Pampering My Husband Every Day
Chapters ListChapter 1: Chapter 1
Huanshan Emerald was a villa complex on the outskirts of the imperial capital. Because it was developed relatively early, it wasn't particularly far from the city center. However, due to its location, most of its residents were either wealthy or influential.
The Qin family were among the earliest residents.
Their three-story white villa, built in a European style, boasted a garden filled with flowers, trees, a fountain, and sculptures. At first glance, it appeared entirely Western. Perhaps only the kite flying above the courtyard hinted at Huaguo's unique character.
Mother Qin, standing on the second-floor balcony, watched her eldest son playing with a child in the yard, her brow deeply furrowed.
"Mom, what's wrong?" Her second son, Qin Huai, seeing his mother standing on the balcony for a long time with a worsening expression, couldn't help but ask.
"It's your brother again." Mother Qin sighed and returned to the living room.
Qin Huai glanced at his elder brother playing with the child in the yard, then turned and followed his mother into the living room.
"What's wrong? You look upset," Father Qin asked, putting down his newspaper as he saw his wife come downstairs with a dark expression.
"You don't worry about anything," Mother Qin glared at her husband.
"Who upset you now?" Father Qin asked.
"It's Qin Ge…" Mother Qin sat down beside her husband, worry etched on her face.
"Qin Ge? Isn't Qin Ge doing well?" Father Qin asked, puzzled.
"All you know is work all day long. Do you ever care about your son?"
"Of course, I care! I was very worried when Qin Ge was sick. But didn't the psychiatrist say he's fully recovered?" Father Qin said.
"Did you forget what Dr. Li's final instructions were?" Mother Qin said. "He said that although our son is considered cured psychologically, he still has many lingering effects, such as irritability and impulsiveness…"
"Qin Ge was a soldier, a special forces soldier. It's normal for him to have a bit of a temper," Father Qin said.
"I'm not going to argue with you," Mother Qin refused to discuss it further with her husband. "I just remember Dr. Li telling me that the best way is to use family-style care to gradually smooth out his aggression."
"Then what are you worried about? Let's just live our lives well."
"Are you truly that dense? Dr. Li meant that Qin Ge should get married, have his own family and children," Mother Qin said.
"So, you've been arranging blind dates for Qin Ge non-stop lately," Father Qin asked.
"Exactly!"
"And the results?" Father Qin inquired.
"Not ideal," Mother Qin admitted, a little uncomfortably.
"Not ideal? The news has even reached me. They say you've approached every eligible young lady from respectable families. Half of them refused on the spot when they heard it was for Qin Ge, and the other half, after meeting Qin Ge once, kept asking for Qin Huai's number," Father Qin said angrily. "Aren't you being unreasonable? If this continues, you'll risk affecting the relationship between the two brothers."
"How am I being unreasonable? I'm doing this for our son."
"Fang Qing, I know that in our eyes, both sons are excellent, but you have to admit, Qin Ge has been on the battlefield, been injured, and even suffered from PTSD. When we were searching the world for a psychiatrist, this matter spread throughout our circle. If you really want to find a wife for Qin Ge, you shouldn't look among families of equal social standing," Father Qin said.
"So what? My son is a soldier, a hero of our country. Yes, he had PTSD, but he's cured now!" Mother Qin said indignantly. "Does it have to be like what they say outside? That he's killed people, that he'll beat his wife? That's nonsense! And why can't my son marry someone of equal standing? Why should he settle?"
"I know you're afraid that when Qin Huai gets married, there will be too big a gap between the two daughters-in-law, but you also have to consider the reality of the situation," Father Qin said, though he understood his wife.
Qin Huai stood at the turn of the stairs and listened for a long time. He understood what his mother was worried about. After graduating from military academy, his elder brother had been in the army, while he himself directly took over the family business. By the time his brother was medically discharged due to injury, he was already the general manager of the Qin Group.
And his elder brother had undergone two years of psychotherapy with a psychiatrist. Although he was well now, he didn't want to join the company, essentially leaving the entire massive Qin Group to him.
And now, the eldest young master of the Qin Group was being rejected when looking for a marriage partner.
"Dad, Mom!" Qin Huai called out.
"Qin Huai?" Father Qin nodded, acknowledging his son.
"Mom, you've been arranging blind dates for Elder Brother, but does Elder Brother actually want to get married?" Qin Huai asked.
"Qin Ge doesn't object. He said he also wants to give Fei Fei a complete family," Mother Qin replied.
"Then… let's have a business marriage," Qin Huai suddenly said.
"A business marriage?" Mother Qin and Father Qin looked at their second son in unison.
"Recently, several companies have approached our Qin Group seeking cooperation. I think a business marriage would be a good approach," Qin Huai said.
Mother Qin immediately lowered her head and began to think seriously. Father Qin glanced at his second son, but ultimately said nothing.
One week later.
At the entrance of the Emperor Hotel.
Wu Tong hid at the hotel entrance and waited all morning. Finally, she saw her Second Uncle's family get out of a Bentley and walk into the hotel. Wu Tong immediately followed them inside.
Second Uncle's family had been avoiding her for weeks. Now, when she went to their house, the security guards wouldn't let her in the yard, always saying that the family wasn't home. Her calls went unanswered; they must have blocked her number. She couldn't even get past the gate at their company. She was frantic.
Wu Tong thought that no matter what, she had to try again today. She had to convince her Second Uncle to agree. Her younger brother was in the hospital waiting for her, and time was running out.
Wu Tong saw Second Uncle's family get into the elevator and hurriedly ran over to see which floor they pressed. However, because she was running too fast, she accidentally knocked over a little boy's toy gun in the hallway.
"I'm sorry, little brother, I didn't mean to," Wu Tong said, quickly picking up the gun and returning it to the boy, who was staring blankly at the toy on the floor, neither crying nor making a fuss. She thought she had frightened him.
The little boy took the toy gun and finally looked up at Wu Tong. Wu Tong thought the boy's expression was a bit strange, but didn't have time to think about it. She checked him over quickly and asked, "Are you hurt? Where are your mommy and daddy?"
"Fei Fei!" Suddenly, a slightly gruff male voice called out. The little boy immediately let go of Wu Tong's hand and ran off.
Wu Tong followed the boy's direction and vaguely saw a tall male figure. After confirming it was the boy's parent, she quickly turned and ran back to the elevators. She waited for a while and noticed the elevator stopped at the 20th and 26th floors.
"20th or 26th floor?" Wu Tong found the hotel directory and discovered the 20th floor was the restaurant and the 26th was the conference room. "First the 20th floor, then the 26th."
Having decided, Wu Tong turned and entered the elevator.
Qin Ge crouched down to look Fei Fei in the eye and asked, "What happened just now?"
Because a potted plant had been between them, Qin Ge hadn't seen what had happened clearly. He had only seen an adult crouching in front of Fei Fei, saying something. Fei Fei's situation was special, and Qin Ge asked with some concern.
Fei Fei blinked his bright black and white eyes and gently shook his head.
"That's good. Don't run too far in the future." Thinking of how the once lively and lovely child had become like this, Qin Ge felt a pang of pity, and an inexplicable irritability rose within him.
"Don't you like ice cream? Let's go get another one." Qin Ge picked Fei Fei up.
"Elder Brother, children can't eat too many cold things. Also… it's time for our appointment with the Wu family," Qin Huai stood up and said.
"Aren't you going to discuss the contract first? I'll go up after you're almost done. I'll take Fei Fei for ice cream now," Qin Ge said.
"Elder Brother…" Qin Huai glanced at the child in his brother's arms and couldn't help but say, "Are you really going to let Fei Fei choose?"
"Yes…" Qin Ge nodded.
"Elder Brother, this is, after all…"
"It doesn't matter who I marry. Besides, Mom must have already inquired about the other person's character. As long as they don't dislike me, it's fine." Qin Ge had a roughly two-centimeter scar at the corner of his eye, which made him look a bit fierce when he smiled. "As for me? As long as Fei Fei doesn't dislike her, it's fine."
Qin Huai felt that things shouldn't be this way, but he didn't know how to resolve it. He only hoped that Miss Wu was as well-mannered, gentle, and kind as the rumors said.
"Then I'll go up first. Come up after you finish ice cream with Fei Fei," Qin Huai reminded him, not quite at ease. "Room 2601."
"Got it," Qin Ge said, then carried Fei Fei off for ice cream.
In room 2601, both parties had been exchanging pleasantries for a while. Mother Qin, in particular, had been discreetly observing Wu Zhizhi, her eyes filled with satisfaction. The girl was beautiful, had a good temperament, spoke softly, and was reportedly a pianist.
Knock, knock
With a knock on the door, Qin Huai pushed the door open and walked in: "Sorry I'm late."
"Not at all, not at all. Wasn't our appointment for two o'clock?" Wu Liren laughed repeatedly.
Wu Zhizhi had specially dressed up for today. Before coming, she knew she was going to have a business marriage with the Qin family's young master. Seeing such a handsome and noble young man, her cheeks flushed crimson, and she looked somewhat shy and timid.
Mother Qin was immediately displeased. Qin Huai knew he was more attractive to girls than his elder brother, so why did he have to come today?
"Where's Qin Ge?" Mother Qin asked pointedly.
"He was delayed by something just now. Elder Brother will be up in a moment," Qin Huai replied.
"No rush, no rush," Wu Liren laughed heartily.
Wu Zhizhi then realized that she had met the second son. She turned her head away awkwardly, but still thought that as brothers born of the same mother, the elder brother couldn't be too different.
"Sis, seems pretty good," her younger brother, Wu Kai, whispered in her ear.
Wu Zhizhi shot her brother a look.
Mrs. Wu even took Mother Qin's hand and praised, "They say Madam Qin is blessed with two sons, each as handsome and talented as a dragon or phoenix. It's truly no lie."
To Mother Qin, both her sons were indeed excellent. Seeing that Wu Zhizhi's eyes stopped wandering as soon as she heard that Qin Huai wasn't her blind date, she became even more satisfied with this future daughter-in-law.
The two sides were chatting animatedly when suddenly there was another knock at the door.
"It must be Qin Ge," Mother Qin said.
Everyone's eyes immediately turned to the door. Qin Huai stood up to open it, only to see a delicate young woman in a white dress standing outside. He froze.
Wu Tong had searched the restaurant but hadn't seen her Second Uncle's family. She then took the elevator to the 26th floor. She had just knocked on the first door when a smartly dressed, elite-looking man opened it. Feeling a little embarrassed, she asked, "Excuse me, is Mr. Wu Liren here?"
"Who's asking for me?" Hearing his name, Wu Liren stood up and walked to the door. His face changed instantly when he saw Wu Tong.
"Second Uncle!" Wu Tong's eyes lit up, and she walked past Qin Huai into the room.
"Why are you here?" Wu Liren barely managed to control himself from scowling on the spot.
"Second Uncle, so you're here." Wu Tong feigned innocence. "I couldn't get through to you on the phone. The company said you were out on business. I was just having a meal with a friend downstairs when I saw you. I thought I'd come up and see if it was really you, and it really is! And Second Aunt, Cousin, and Cousin, you're all here too!"
"And this is…?" Mother Qin, seeing the change in the four people's expressions when the girl entered, asked with confusion.
"Oh, this is my elder brother's daughter," Wu Liren explained, pushing Wu Tong towards the door. "Second Uncle has some very important business to discuss right now. We can talk about your matter later."
"But, Second Uncle…" Wu Tong wanted to persist, but a girl's strength was no match for a grown man's. She was quickly pushed to the door. She was just wondering if she should cling to the doorframe when…
"What's going on here?" Qin Ge, holding Fei Fei, stood at the doorway. Seeing the two tugging at each other, he narrowed his eyes with a dangerous smile. "Changing your mind?"
"No…" Wu Liren almost immediately realized the other man's identity and quickly stopped pushing Wu Tong.
"Then don't stand in the doorway."
"Oh." Wu Liren couldn't shake the feeling that this Qin Ge had an unnerving aura about him.
Wu Tong knew she had managed to stay. She gratefully turned and smiled at the man, then followed him into the room.
Qin Ge saw that the small and delicate girl wasn't afraid of him and raised an eyebrow in amusement.
