Pampering My Husband Every Day
Chapters ListChapter 6: Chapter 6
Lan Hai Psychological Therapy Studio.
“Hello, do you have an appointment?” the nurse asked warmly as someone entered.
“Hello, I’m looking for Doctor Li Yunjing,” Wu Tong said.
“Are you Ms. Wu Tong?” The nurse seemed to have been notified in advance. As soon as she heard someone was looking for Doctor Li Yunjing, she immediately confirmed with Wu Tong.
“Yes, I am,” Wu Tong nodded, somewhat surprised.
“Doctor Li is already waiting for you. This way, please.” The nurse gestured for Wu Tong to follow.
Wu Tong hesitated for a moment, then followed.
The nurse led Wu Tong to Doctor Li's therapy room and knocked softly. A pleasant female voice came from inside: “Come in.”
“Doctor Li, Ms. Wu Tong is here.” The nurse stepped aside and closed the door after Wu Tong entered.
Wu Tong stepped inside and saw a middle-aged woman, about forty years old, wearing casual clothes. Her slightly plump face wore a kind smile, giving off a very approachable feeling.
“Hello, Wu Tong. I'm Li Yunjing, Qin Ge's psychotherapist.” Doctor Li extended her hand with a smile.
“Hello, Doctor Li.” Wu Tong still hadn't quite processed the situation, wondering why the other party seemed to know her so well.
“Are you wondering why I'm not surprised by your arrival and seem to have known about it beforehand?” Doctor Li poured Wu Tong a cup of flower tea. “Sorry, we only have flower tea today.”
“It’s fine, thank you,” Wu Tong said, taking the teacup.
“Let’s sit down and talk,” Doctor Li said.
Wu Tong glanced at the reclining chair, clearly meant for patients, and hesitantly sat on the sofa beside it.
“Did Qin Ge call you in advance?” Wu Tong guessed.
“You’re half right.” Under Wu Tong’s questioning gaze, Doctor Li explained, “Actually, Mrs. Qin mentioned you to me some time ago, but their requests were different.”
Wu Tong blinked, indicating she didn’t quite understand.
“Mrs. Qin only consulted me about whether your marriage to Qin Ge would be beneficial to his condition. Qin Ge, on the other hand, wanted me to give you a comprehensive explanation of his condition.” Doctor Li smiled. “He called me early this morning and asked me to reschedule all my patients for today, just to wait for you.”
Wu Tong paused, absorbing this information. She didn't rush to comment, and after a while, she asked, “Has Young Master Qin… been receiving treatment here for a long time?”
“About two years. He's recovering relatively quickly, compared to other patients,” Doctor Li said.
“What illness?” Wu Tong couldn't imagine Qin Ge having a psychological disorder.
“Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a type of trauma-related disorder,” Doctor Li explained.
“PTSD?” Wu Tong remembered her Second Uncle mentioning that Young Master Qin had served in the special forces. Thinking of this, she had a few guesses.
Seeing that the topic had been broached, Doctor Li began to slowly explain Qin Ge’s condition: “When he first came here, his overall state was very poor. He had almost no will to live.”
Disbelief filled Wu Tong’s eyes. She couldn't believe that the man who had leaned against the jeep and smiled so freely at her last night had once lacked the will to live.
“Qin Ge comes from the special forces. He has a very strong will. It was very difficult to penetrate his defenses, and the treatment progressed slowly,” Doctor Li recalled. “It took about six months before he was willing to talk to me about anything. I think something must have touched him during that time.”
Wu Tong listened quietly, not interrupting Doctor Li's narrative.
“Just like that… it took almost two years of treatment for him to recover to his current state. Then I realized that I couldn't treat him any further.”
“Why?” Wu Tong asked.
“Because, psychologically speaking, he’s recovered.” Doctor Li’s tone shifted. “However, this doesn’t mean he’s completely normal. It’s just that I’m no longer able to help with the remaining issues.”
“What issues?” Wu Tong asked.
“Even after treatment, PTSD patients can have many lingering effects, such as reluctance to communicate, impulsiveness, irritability, and a strong desire for control… Qin Ge exhibits all of these.”
“You mean he has a bad temper?” Wu Tong interpreted the terms Doctor Li used.
“That’s the most obvious one. What’s more difficult to control is that Qin Ge, being from the special forces, is highly skilled in combat and has slight violent tendencies,” Doctor Li said.
Violent tendencies. Wu Tong's face instantly paled.
“But don’t worry, as of now, Qin Ge hasn’t exhibited any violent incidents, which proves he can still control himself,” Doctor Li said.
“‘As of now’ meaning this possibility isn’t ruled out?” Wu Tong asked.
“Yes.” Doctor Li nodded and continued, “This is also why I’ve been advising Qin Ge to return to a normal family life. According to research, a person’s most relaxed, beautiful, and secure memories are almost all from home. I hope that the warmth of an ordinary family can gradually soothe the restlessness in his heart.”
“So that’s why this arranged marriage happened.” Wu Tong nodded in understanding.
After hearing Wu Tong’s words, Doctor Li Yunjing thought for a moment and added, “Initially, I hoped Qin Ge could have a normal relationship and then get married. However, given his current situation, that might be difficult, so Mrs. Qin became a bit anxious.”
“I know this is an arranged marriage, but I can see that Ms. Wu Tong is a very intelligent and kind person. Although Qin Ge still has some lingering issues, he is an outstanding individual.”
“Especially today, the fact that he proactively asked you to come see me and called to emphasize that I should tell you everything about his condition without reservation shows that Qin Ge values this marriage and is a very sincere person.”
“I understand. Thank you, Doctor Li.” Wu Tong smiled wryly and nodded.
“So… will you reconsider this marriage?” Doctor Li asked cautiously.
“No.” Wu Tong shook her head with a smile. If she could easily break the agreement, it wouldn't be an arranged marriage, especially since the bargaining chip for this marriage was Xiao Yuan’s bone marrow.
“Then… let me add a few more things.” After confirming that Wu Tong would indeed marry Qin Ge, Doctor Li decided to continue. “I mentioned before that Qin Ge has a strong desire for control.”
Wu Tong nodded, indicating she was listening.
“Generally, a man’s desire for control manifests in two aspects: possessiveness and sexuality.”
Wu Tong blinked, a little bewildered.
“Up until now, in Qin Ge’s mind, you’re just a potential wife. He doesn’t have a controlling desire towards you yet. But after you leave here, once he confirms that you will definitely become his wife, you will fall under his control.” Seeing Wu Tong’s pale face, Doctor Li felt she might have sounded frightening, so she smiled reassuringly.
“Don’t be too nervous. His desire for control isn’t perverse; it’s just stronger than the average person’s. He’s like a child. I have a suggestion: try to appease him when you interact with him.”
“Appease him?”
“Yes, and… smiles and hugs are the most relaxing expressions and actions.” Doctor Li suggested, “You can use them often; they’ll have unexpected effects.”

In the Wu Corporation’s conference room, Second Uncle Wu frowned at the final supplementary clause. After a long while, he looked up at Assistant Lin and asked, “This is both a marriage alliance and a business collaboration, so naturally, I also hope that Wu Tong and Young Master Qin will remain loving and harmonious. But this supplementary clause… seems to only protect Young Master Qin’s rights.”
“Does Mr. Wu have objections to this contract?” Assistant Lin finished speaking and glanced at the lawyer who had accompanied him. “Then why don’t we go back and revise it? We can sign it when Mr. Wu is satisfied.”
“Alright.” The lawyer nodded and actually stood up to gather the documents.
“Wait, wait.” Second Uncle Wu quickly stopped the two who were about to leave. On one hand, he was dissatisfied with the supplementary clause, and on the other hand, the company couldn't afford to wait any longer.
“Assistant Lin, can you tell me honestly, what’s wrong with Young Master Qin?” Second Uncle Wu wanted to know what kind of situation he was putting Wu Tong in by signing this.
“There’s nothing wrong with Young Master Qin,” Assistant Lin said with a smile, looking at Second Uncle Wu.
Second Uncle Wu didn't get the information he wanted, but his years of business experience told him that such an overbearing clause was precisely telling him that there definitely was something wrong with Young Master Qin. The Qin family was rich; this was like buying a wife for Young Master Qin!
“Mr. Wu, are you still signing this contract?” Assistant Lin asked.
Second Uncle Wu felt the contract in his hand burn, but in the end, he signed it. After seeing Assistant Lin and the lawyer off, Second Uncle Wu held the newly signed contract, his expression heavy.
Back in the car, Assistant Lin called Mr. Qin to report the progress.
“Mr. Qin, Wu Liren has signed.”
“He didn’t object to the supplementary clause?” Qin Huai asked.
“He had a slight objection, but he quickly compromised,” Assistant Lin said. “But from what I could tell, he’s likely planning to manage the company well and try to break away from Qin Corp as soon as possible.”
“If Mr. Wu can manage the company well, we’re naturally happy to see it.” Qin Huai hung up the phone and looked out the window at the concrete jungle. He slowly added the second half of the sentence, “Whether he can escape Qin Corp’s control, that remains to be seen.”
After leaving the therapy studio, Wu Tong went to Ankang Hospital.
When she arrived, Xiao Yuan and Wu Kai were drinking soup that Second Aunt had arranged for someone to make. They were chatting happily. Second Uncle Wu glanced at Wu Tong, seemingly wanting to say something but hesitating, which let Wu Tong know his intentions.
They tacitly went to the hospital’s central garden. Wu Tong calmly turned around and asked, “Second Uncle, is something the matter?”
“This is the cooperation agreement I signed with Qin Corp.” Second Uncle Wu handed Wu Tong a file.
Wu Tong didn’t take it. She glanced at the file and smiled, “Congratulations to Second Uncle for overcoming the company’s difficulties.”
“Take a look,” Second Uncle Wu pushed the file forward again.
“No need. Second Uncle, rest assured, after Xiao Yuan’s surgery, I definitely won’t go back on my word,” Wu Tong assured him.
“That’s not what I mean. There’s a supplementary clause in the contract that concerns you,” Second Uncle Wu said somewhat guiltily.
Wu Tong blinked, thought for a moment, then took the file and pulled out the thick contract. She skipped the initial content and flipped directly to the last page.
(During the cooperation between Qin Corp and Wu Corp, Ms. Wu Tong does not have the right to divorce. If Ms. Wu Tong insists on divorce, or engages in any behavior that harms the marital relationship, Qin Corp will immediately withdraw its investment and has the right to demand full compensation for all economic losses from Wu Corp.)
Wu Tong looked at this supplementary clause and her Second Uncle’s flamboyant signature beneath it. She lowered her head and remained silent for a long while.
Second Uncle Wu couldn’t see Wu Tong’s expression, and his anxiety grew.
After about two or three minutes, Wu Tong put the contract away, placed it back in the file, and returned it to her Second Uncle with a smile. “I understand.”
“Wu Tong…” Second Uncle Wu said anxiously, “Don’t worry, once Second Uncle overcomes this hurdle and earns money, I’ll find an opportunity to break free from Qin Corp.”
“Second Uncle, you don’t have to bear such a heavy burden,” Wu Tong said with a smile. “Since I’ve agreed to the marriage, I will naturally live a good life with Young Master Qin. As for that last supplementary clause, I don't think it holds much meaning.”
“It’s good that you think that way. Second Uncle is relieved.” Seeing Wu Tong’s serious expression, Second Uncle Wu felt much more at ease.
“Then, Second Uncle, I’ll go ask the doctor about the surgery,” Wu Tong said.
“Alright, go ahead.”
Wu Tong turned around. The smile that had filled her eyes just moments ago gradually faded, replaced by a coldness that seemed to chill even the summer sun.
