Chapter 74: Opportunity

Tang Susu's question left Tang Qiming speechless.

There was nothing much to say. Businessmen like to talk about profit, not emotions. He insisted on talking about emotions with Tang Susu, so it was no wonder she slapped him in the face.

Tang Qiming probably understood now. He sat up straight, his sharp eyes sweeping across Tang Susu's face. He had never really observed his daughter carefully before. He didn't expect that in such a short period of time, she would have the ability to challenge the family.

"Dad misspoke. Since you don't want to hear about this, let's talk about something else. I know you and Qiqi don't have a good relationship. Qiqi was spoiled by her mother and doesn't understand the rules. Don't lower yourself to her level. She will get married sooner or later."

Tang Susu chuckled softly but didn't reply.

"You are different from the other children in the Tang family. You are my eldest daughter and have the right to inherit the Tang family. Your grandparents have not been in good health recently, and their shares have been divided. One of them is for you."

Tang Susu couldn't help but applaud Tang Qiming in her heart. If you want a horse to run, you have to feed it grass. Her father was a man of action.

A vague right of inheritance, a small share, in exchange for the goodwill of the emperor. What a loss!

If she didn't know any better, she might think she had struck it rich.

Unfortunately, she knew better.

The piece of land that the Tang family had lost before had cost them hundreds of millions. She didn't know how much money that would be converted into shares, probably not much, but it would definitely be more than the shares she was about to receive.

Tang Susu finally spoke, "Forget about the inheritance. Dad, don't make a joke out of something that's not certain. As for the shares… they're useless to me. If you insist on giving them to me, I'll just end up converting them into money."

Tang Qiming narrowed his eyes. "I know you don't think much of these things. You think they are all empty and useless to you. But for many people, as long as I acknowledge you as the future heir, your status in their hearts will be completely different. The Shi family will not refuse to marry the future heir of the Tang family."

Tang Susu's expression was subtle. "Why do you think I would want to marry Shi Chengxuan?"

Tang Qiming was taken aback. He probably didn't expect his eldest daughter to say such a thing.

"You don't want to?"

"Why would I?"

An awkward silence spread between the two.

What kind of person is the hardest to manipulate? A person without needs. Without needs, there are no weaknesses.

Tang Qiming thought he had found his daughter's weakness. He wanted to exchange affection for it, but she didn't care. He changed it to profit, but it was still not accepted.

It was just because it was all his own wishful thinking.

What others thought Tang Susu wanted was never what she needed.

"It's getting late. If there's nothing else, please leave, Dad," Tang Susu said, seeing him off.

Tang Qiming was in a bad mood but still maintained his demeanor. When he reached the door, he turned to Tang Susu and said, "Susu, opportunities don't last forever."

Tang Susu put one hand on the doorknob and smiled at him. "The Tang family has never been my opportunity." With that, she slammed the door shut, leaving Tang Qiming outside.

It was conceivable that Tang Qiming would dislike her even more after being rejected, and in a fit of anger, he might even do something unpredictable.

It didn't matter. She would wait.

Wait until these people push her to her limit, wait until the moment she completely loses her patience.

Tang Qiming did not leave immediately after being kicked out. He stood downstairs for a while and even smoked a cigarette. Standing in the shadows, the expression on his face was completely hidden in the darkness, only the cigarette butt flickered with dots of red light.

Looking up at the soft light coming from a certain window upstairs, a coldness flashed in his eyes. He took out his phone and dialed a number.

The phone rang for a while before it was picked up. On the other end came a few ambiguous moans, and after a while, he heard a rustling voice, "Hello, why did President Tang think of calling me?"

"Mr. Xue, long time no see."

"Just say it, what's the matter? If it's about business, then forget it. Although we didn't manage to do business, we are still friends. However, what President Tang did was really disappointing." The speaker was somewhat impatient, but probably because he was in a good mood, he gave him some face.

"I know that what happened last time made Mr. Xue unhappy. It was also my fault for not teaching my child well. I hope Mr. Xue will give me another chance."

"What, your daughter agreed?" The man's voice on the other end of the phone rose a few degrees.

Tang Qiming laughed. "Her opinion is not important. As long as I agree, it's fine, isn't it?"

Hearing him say this, Mr. Xue couldn't help but touch his shiny head and hesitated, "This is not good. Nowadays, everyone is talking about mutual consent. If the little girl makes a fuss afterwards, it will not be good for everyone."

"Don't worry, Mr. Xue. Since I promised you, I will take care of everything afterwards. I promise she will be obedient."

Mr. Xue smacked his lips. Thinking of the little girl he had met before, he couldn't help but swallow his saliva. "Alright, let's try it. As for that business, we'll talk about it later."

"Mr. Xue is a straightforward person. Then it's settled."

"Haha, I'll wait for your good news."

Tang Qiming threw the cigarette butt on the ground and left with big strides.

After hanging up the phone, Mr. Xue hummed a tune in a good mood. A voluptuous woman walked out of the bathroom, her chest wrapped in a bath towel that couldn't hide her surging waves.

She wrapped her arms around the man from behind, her sharp chin resting on his shoulder. "You seem happy. What's the good news?"

"Of course, Tang Qiming is going to send his daughter to me to play with for a while. Isn't that something to be happy about?"

The woman blinked, her expression slightly complicated as she asked, "His daughter, the little girl you… wanted to marry before?"

"Hmph, that's her. She didn't know what was good for her. Now I don't want to marry her anymore. Playing with her for a few days in exchange for a business deal is not a loss." He, Xue Jun, had never failed to get a woman he wanted.

The woman's long nails lightly scratched Xue Jun's face, a thoughtful look flashing in her eyes.

"What time is it?"

"It's past eight. What, are you leaving? What's the rush?" The woman slid her hand across his chest, clinging to him and not letting him go.

Xue Jun kissed the woman's face. "If I don't leave, your husband will be back."

"Didn't you send him on a business trip out of town?" Although she said this, the woman obediently helped him get dressed. The two of them fooled around for a while before Xue Jun tidied himself up and left the small villa.

After he left, the woman leaned against the bed and lit a cigarette, muttering to herself, "Tang Qiming's daughter…"

After thinking for a while, she took out a mobile phone from the drawer beside the bed, turned it on, and dialed a number. "Hello, is this Young Master Xue…"
