Chapter 93: Reality

Clearly, the woman watching the movie with Ai La's husband wasn't Ai La.

Things were getting interesting.

Tang Susu placed the iPad on her lap, stretched her legs out onto the coffee table, and scratched Gou Dan's chin with one hand while she pondered.

One woman gave up her career for her family, 一 wholeheartedly wanting to bear children for her husband. The other already had a lover, and who knows how long this affair had been going on.

Did Ai La know about all of this?

Tang Susu naturally had to tell her best friend about such interesting news immediately. She now had reason to suspect that Ai La's husband's actions were not authorized by Ai La.

Bai Mian, who was still working overtime at the company, had just received a notification from the housekeeper that someone had been sent home. As soon as she hung up, Tang Susu's call came in.

"What happened?" Bai Mian asked, somewhat puzzled.

"Have you investigated Ai La's husband?"

Bai Mian immediately understood. "You mean… there's a problem with her husband?"

"Her husband seems to have another lover. I don't know if Ai La is aware of this."

"That's really unexpected." Bai Mian laughed, not asking where Tang Susu got the information. As long as the news was beneficial to her, it was enough.

"Remember to share with me what you find out."

"Don't worry."

Bai Mian's subordinates worked quickly. Within two days, all the information about Ning Kaize was delivered.

In the eyes of most people, this man was already considered extremely outstanding. Born into an ordinary family, he studied abroad on a government scholarship during university, stayed abroad for two years, and after returning, founded his own company. Now he had a small fortune. It wasn't much in the eyes of the many wealthy families in Fenglin City, but as a self-made young talent, he was quite remarkable.

However, if someone dug a little deeper, they would discover many interesting details. Ning Kaize was in the clothing business, and what allowed him to thrive in the business world was not anything else, but his connection with a famous French fashion designer.

In the past two years, the main products launched by his company were the work of that designer.

Sean de Bourbon, this designer of noble birth, was very famous in Paris and even the world. Why would such a person be willing to support Ning Kaize?

Because Mr. Bourbon was an admirer of Ai La.

Very interesting, wasn't it?

Romantic Frenchmen, even their way of dealing with their rivals in love was so gentle.

Ning Kaize's affair partner was an up-and-coming jewelry designer who also worked at Genesis. This explained why Ning Kaize approached Genesis that day.

Bai Mian also had a photo of the designer. In terms of appearance, she was much more beautiful than Ai La, with a particularly sexy figure, naturally more likely to attract a man's attention.

After reading Ning Kaize's information, Bai Mian forwarded it to Tang Susu. Next, she needed to think carefully about how to teach this man, who dared to play her, an unforgettable lesson.

On the other side, Tang Susu finished reading the email from Bai Mian and patted Gou Dan's head. "It seems our guest has appeared."

"Meow."

"Don't worry, we still need to wait."

After about half a month, Bai Mian finally contacted Ai La. Ai La only then learned that her husband hadn't given the designs to Bai Mian, but instead had found another jewelry company, choosing to let the two companies bid.

Through Ai La's explanation, Bai Mian learned that Ai La's mother-in-law had been ill during this time, and she had been staying at the hospital, taking care of the elderly almost day and night. Her phone had been in her husband's hands so that he could handle some trivial matters for her at any time.

Ai La apologized repeatedly and promised to discuss the matter with her husband after he returned. Bai Mian didn't show any anger and told her to communicate well with her husband.

Was good communication really possible?

Even if Ai La seemed very gentle, it didn't mean she didn't have a temper. A Chinese woman who could make a name for herself in a place like France couldn't be a simple person.

At least, her mind was clear.

The reason Bai Mian hadn't been able to contact her was simply because her husband didn't want her to be contacted.

After Ai La hung up Bai Mian's call, she waited at home for Ning Kaize to return. She didn't see him until noon the next day.

Ning Kaize entered the house looking exhausted. He only glanced at Ai La sitting on the sofa and didn't greet her.

Ai La felt some heartache for his busyness, but thinking of what Bai Mian had told her, she couldn't help but ask, "A Ze, I received a call from Miss Bai today. She said you didn't sign a contract with her. Is that true?"

Ning Kaize paused in taking off his shoes, his face darkening with displeasure. "Bai Shi wasn't very honest. I think Genesis is better."

Ai La sighed and said softly, "Miss Bai and I are good friends. I sold the designs to her only because I hoped she could help me fulfill a wish. Although Genesis is good, their design philosophy is contrary to mine."

"What do you mean, you think I'm wrong?" Ning Kaize suddenly straightened up, glaring at Ai La angrily.

Ai La was startled by his sudden outburst of anger and looked at Ning Kaize with a hint of confusion and bewilderment in her eyes. Since when had A Ze's temper become so bad?

Seeing that Ai La remained silent, Ning Kaize, instead of calming down, became even more agitated. "You want to fulfill your wish, I can understand, but can you understand me! Do you think the things you design don't cost money? How much jewelry you've designed is piled up in our house. You say they are your life's work and can't be touched. I support you, but we need to eat. Can you be a little more realistic!"

After this outburst, seeing that Ai La still hadn't responded, Ning Kaize flung his tie off impatiently, put his shoes back on, and turned to leave. "Forget it, think about it yourself. I'm going back to the company."

The door slammed shut, leaving behind a room filled with coldness.

Ai La sat on the sofa, turning her head expressionlessly to look out the window, her usually gentle eyes filled with an unreadable depth.

After that, there was no further news from Ai La. A week later, Ai La called Bai Mian again and invited her and Tang Susu out for coffee.

Tang Susu didn't expect that she would still invite her and happily agreed. On Saturday afternoon, the two met as scheduled at the Forest Coffee Shop on the outskirts of the city.

The place was a bit remote. Neither Tang Susu nor Bai Mian had been there before. However, there were quite a few customers, mostly young men and women coming and going.

The coffee shop was filled with green plants, and although there were many people, it wasn't noisy and had a pleasant atmosphere.

Ai La chose a seat in the corner, next to a pot of man-high bamboo. If she hadn't stood up and waved, no one would have noticed her.
